Life is more fun living than writing about.

We had a good week here.
Monday, can't remember... shopping I think.

Tuesday, Frisco pool. I spent some time on the lazy river then suffered with the ramifications.... sunburned legs.

Wednesday, the boys had a birthday party at a neighbor's house so I did the final insurance shopping.

Thursday, we had a couple of neighbor kids over then tried to go to a Magic show at the library. Tried was the operative word in that sentence, the tickets were all given out before we got there. We came home, chilled for a bit then went to the neighbors to swim.

Friday was a tough day. Nic was not invited to a rather important birthday party. I was trying very hard to divert his attention by keeping him busy. We started our day getting daddy's oil changed and a nail taken out of his tire. Then we FLEW to Safety Town for a bicycle safety course. After Safety Town we couldn't let the fun end. We went to Strikz and bowled some bowls. I did TERRIBLY the first game and recovered by the second. Our combined scores still landed me in 3rd place. Ugh.

Friday couldn't end too soon. I had BIG plans to watch the new Disney Channel movie, Princess Protection Program. Will went to see MF and ended up getting invited to a movie with her family. It was their first "outing" and no one took a single pic. Ugh. I'm sure there will be other opportunities.

Today Will and I went to a playoff baseball game that his BFF was playing in. Drew's team won and it was a pretty exciting game. They play again tomorrow but I'm not sure if we'll go. It was awfully HOT today even to be a spectator. I felt bad for the kids and umps who were playing in the 107 degree heat.

Thursday also marked the one year anniversary of the fire. It was a little emotional for me, especially because I was alone, but was otherwise uneventful. I am ready to put it in the past. A blip in our family history. If we can just get our last few checks as reimbursement we'll be ready to move on.

This week promises to be a HOT one here in TX. I see swimming and reading and maybe some deck time. The stain guys FINALLY made it out on Thursday. Once it dries completely, hopefully tomorrow, we will get to put together our new deck furniture. I am pumped because the set includes a fire pit. S'MORES! I'll post photos of that for sure!

Ok, time to get the boys off to bed. It's summer and all but we all need our beauty rest.

Time flies by!

Off to the Frisco community pool today and hope to have some down time this afternoon/evening to up-date the blog and put away the end of school year papers. It seems a reasonable goal. Stay tuned!

Good morning from sunny Orlando!

Home!!!!

So far so good. The plan for today is that the boys and Fred are headed to DTD to go to Disney Quest. Basically 5 stories of gaming. Not my thing so I'm not wasting $40 on going in to not play. I have no big plans... exploring a bit then getting a pedicure at 3:00 then meeting the boys and Fred for dinner at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant. Tonight we will probably swim and maybe watch a movie in the pool. Can't do that many places besides Disney. Here are a couple of pics of our journey so far.
The boys trying out a few things at the Lego Store.

The world's largest helium balloon. $16 per adult will take you 400 ft in the air.

June action, LOTS of it!

These are totally and completely out of order but you get the idea, we have had a busy June!

A trip to the 6th Floor Museum in Dealy Plaza to learn about the life and death of JFK. Nothing wrong with a little history lesson over summer vacation.

Megan tries a Whataburger! Yummo!

Nic wins a Great Debater award from his 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Duke. By the way there was no competition for said award. He won hands down.

Nic's 5th grade party had an Oscar's/Movie theme. My pal Sabrina and I went to GoodWill to see if we could find outfits that might be Oscar worthy. I found nothing but a memory... Imagaine this as a balloon skirt and throw a little rinestone action on the neckline and you have a great dress that Jen and I wore a few years back....

Nic "graduating" 5th grade. That is his principal Mrs. Kazanski.

Nic and his pal Alex walking the red carpet as they got on the bus to head to the movies.

Lunch just yesterday at GoGo Burger in downtown Frisco. So many fun and yummy places to eat around here.

Me filling water balloons for the 3rd grade field day. I am guessing this was only #4 of 100 since I was still smiling at this point.

Nic ans some pals at the Frisco ISD night at the Frisco Rough Riders Baseball Game.

In the 10th inning they had lost interest in the game but were still having a BLAST!

Dippin Dots in the commemorative helmet, inning #4.

Me, Will and my three chins. I love taking shots of us together but sure don't need any company.

Will and is WONDERFUL 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Rutter. We will miss her.

Will at the Crawford Oasis.

Will and his pal, MF. I hope they get in the same class again next year. She is a great friend.

Nic at the Crawford Oasis.

A rousing and I do mean ROUSING game of Trouble the night before IN company heads home.

Had to take the Hoosiers to Dickie's for Texas BBQ. Yum!

A year ago today...

One year ago today I awoke in a hotel in Plano, TX relatively homeless, ie did not own a home. By the time I went to bed that night I had signed not only my life away, but my husband's as well, and once again was a homeowner.

A year later I am tired, happy, loved, and did I mention tired. I am ready for a VACATION! So, my hope is that in about 48 hours I can sink into an airplane seat and watch the clouds float by as I anxiously look forward to landing near Mickey's house and spending a week as his guest. I am in the throws of preparing for our trip but did want to put in a little up-date. I am also going to do a second post with a bunch of pics from June thus far. It's been crazy busy in a very good way.

Rainy Tuesday

The storms started around 4 I think. It woke me up every time it rumbled and that was a bunch! Today is going to be another LONG day.

The kids are wrapping up school in 2 days and we are running hard to the end and beyond. I don't think I'll be resting until late June. That will be nice.

Today I am getting my toes done for the second time in my life. It is my little treat to myself before this CRAZY 5th grade party tomorrow. After toes I get to take Nic to the Dr to have his feet checked then back to school to decorate for the party. Then it's time to come home and fill water balloons for the 3rd grade party that might get rained out anyway. That would be a HUGE bummer. After balloons I have a PTA meeting tonight then I get to come home and work on end of year treats for the teachers and staff.

Our first year in TX has been overall one of the best yet. The boys did wonderfully and the staff did all they could to make us feel welcome and lead my boys in the right direction. I wish I could be more generous but all the same I hope they like what I have planned. it's cute and SWEET and I'll post a picture once I have a finished product!

Well, I should go get my things together for running today. I have been doing my busy work and making phone calls this morning while it continues to rumble outside. It's nearly as loud as my tummy. Maybe I should eat something before I head to the nail salon. The pedi girls might get annoyed with the churning of my tummy while they work.
