I am happy to report that we are now the proud owners of a Wii game console. The boys had great fun late this afternoon, into evening, breaking it in. We picked up a couple of games but failed to find the prized gem of Mario Cart. That is on everyone's wish list, including Ben and Andrea's wedding registry, so we will have to keep our eyes peeled for potential opportunities. After the Wii stop we headed to Allen for a terrific lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Then we headed to Allen Premium Outlets and got shoes for Fred, sandals for me, backpacks and clothes for the boys. We all were working on replacements.
Finally we stopped at Target to buy a certain wedding gift, look for an alternative power source for our sprinkler system, and get some batteries for the Wii. Back to the hotel for Wii time for the boys, movie time for mom (27 Dresses on my Laptop! Whahooooo!) and paper shuffling for daddy. He has all the fun doesn't he.
Our big Independence Day celebration consisted of hotdogs warmed in the microwave and mini bags of chips. All out for us I tell ya! In truth it was no pressure, mellow and just what we needed. No one to impress, no one to tell the story to one more time, just us.
Tomorrow we are getting together with friends from the hood and I hope to start writing Thank You notes. I made my list today and it is overwhelming in such a great way. Better do some hand stretches to get warmed up for all that writing.
